Jiangsu is an eastern-central coastal province of China. It is one of the leading provinces in finance, education, technology, and tourism, with its capital in Nanjing. Zhenjiang lies on the southern bank of the Yangtze River and remains as an important transportation hub.

Zhenjiang does not have a commercial airport within its city limits. Zhenjiang city centre is 62 km away from Changzhou Benniu Airport, about one-hour drive (80 km) away from Nanjing Lukou International Airport, and approximately two-hour (143 km) drive away from Sunan Shuofang International Airport.
