Higher Education in China
A public comprehensive university in Shandong, China. It is one of the largest universities in China. The university has been classified as a National Key University by the Chinese Ministry of Education. Research at Shandong University is particularly strong in the areas of physics, mathematics, and medicine.About 1500 international students from about 40 countries come to study at Shandong University each year.
The Shandong province is on the eastern edge of the North China Plain and extends out to sea. Shandong University has a total of seven campuses. All but one of them are located in Jinan, the capital city of Shandong Province. The city is a major national administrative, economic, and transportation hub.
Important airports include Jinan Yaoqiang Airport and Qingdao Liuting International Airport.
Shaolin Style of Kung fu is taught in this province. Jinan is often called the “Spring City” for its famous 72 artesian springs, the lakes fed by the spring water, and the weeping willows that grow along the water edges. Jinan is also the historical center of Buddhist culture. Temple and Cemetery of Confucius and the Kong is a very famous World Heritage Site and a Tourist Attraction.
